Horseware Ice-Vibe Boots review/Stephen Bradley Lesson

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated, but things have been going well since Loch Moy. I did a lesson with Stephen Bradley yesterday. I’ve never worked with anyone else jumping with Oh So, so I was kind of nervous!

Of course, Oh So was on the verge of a meltdown by the end of the ride, but it was no fault of Stephen’s. He tends to build, and Stephen saw that pretty quickly. Overall, the lesson wasn’t a total epiphany, but it was nice to hear that we’re on the right track and to hear what Lisa tells me through a different voice.

We mostly jumped novice/training height jumps and because Stephen didn’t know us, he probably didn’t realize that the more we repeat exercises and lines, the worse Oh So tends to jump. But I’m glad we pushed through it and made him do things more than once. I think I’ll try another lesson in a couple of weeks, just to see where we might go now that he’s seen us and our basic issues. Of course, Oh So is different everytime we jump, so maybe we’ll luck out and have him be calm and obedient for once.

I did a review of Horseware’s new Ice-Vibe boots for The Chronicle Connection this month. Overall, I think they’re nice boots, but not exactly what I need.
