We’ve finally had a bit of a warm up and the rest of this week is going to be in the 60’s. I have both horses entered at the Morven Park benefit schooling show on Saturday, and it’s finally going to be comfortable to ride! Oh So will be doing First level tests 1 and 2, and Sam will be doing Second level tests 1 and 2.
I had a flat lesson with Oh So on Sunday with Heidi, and he was very good. He warmed up nice and relaxed, then we worked on some trot lengthenings and some half 10-meter circles. I think we’re ready. Hopefully we can keep our composure in the arena.
Sam has been warming up a bit funky from behind, so I think when I take him to get his teeth done, I might need to get him some hock injections or possibly a hip injection, since it feels higher up. I jumped him without stirrups last week, which was hard for me, but I’m going to try to make myself do it once a week.
I need to get Oh So out for a gallop and a cross country school soon. Southern Pines is fast approaching. I know he’ll be fine, but I need to get out there and get myself legged up again.
In other news, I got an iPhone! It finally came to Verizon, and I’m loving it so far. It’s so easy to synch all my info from my MacBook Pro.
