Changes

Yesterday in my dressage lesson, I taught Oh So how to do a flying change on command. It was pretty cool. He goes from left to right easily when we’re on course jumping, but it’s not on command. Basically, we did a half circle back to the track and then I displaced his hindquarters towards the rail to make him crooked, then I swung my leg aids and changed my rein aids up front. He did four clean changes out of 6 tries. We gave him a walk break after each one so we wouldn’t mentally fry him. It was pretty cool.

Tomorrow I’m taking Sam to a dressage schooling show and Sunday I’m working at the Waredaca starter trials. It’s going to be deathly hot, unfortunately.
